Lutwyche was a well-respected English tailoring factory, known mostly by connoisseurs, until it went under. They made for Chester Barrie and Ralph Lauren, for example, and the quality was on part with Brioni and Kiton.
This suit was bespoke-made for a Finnish client. Judging by the measurements, it will best fit a size 42 chap with some belly.
Made in England with a full canvas construction, hand-sewn lining and buttonholes. Oh joy!
In excellent condition. The only sign of wear is behind the trouser waist which has been let out.
This has been steam-cleaned before listing, but not dry-cleaned.
The jacket has a light shoulder structure, notch lapels with some belly, flap pockets, back bents, horn buttons. The trous have belt loops, single creases.
The cloth is 100 % virgin wool, medium weight, super 100-grade, with a small herringbone pattern.
A similar bespoke suit by Lutwyche cost some 3300 pounds new.
