John Pound was an artisanal bag and case maker in England back in the days. Most of their wares were made to order and this case is one of those. The quality was on par with Wuitton because all orders were hand-sewn.
The uppers are 100 % vellum leather in a light beige colour with a unique patina.
The suitcase is around 100 years old and will not likely hold up in use. As a decoration or storage piece at home, it will shine.
The case has the original owner's initials, steel locks which still function, the original key, and a beautiful moiré lining.
The case is fully hand-sewn with a lock stitch which is the strongest possible choice.
Made in England.
In great condition for its age. The case has cracked at the right-hand side on the back, and the lining has splotches of some liquid. I have treated the leather with multiple rounds of leather cream.
