Giovanni Mattina was a Neapolitan tailor whose quality was a testament to his skill. However, there is no company label on this jacket, as the previous owner did not care for any logos.

Here is a dark blue Neapolitan jacket that stands out for the amount and finesse of its craftsmanship.

Fits best for a man with a shoulder size of 50EU and some belly. Any seamstress can narrow down the waist. The jacket has large seam allowances, so adjustments are easy.

Made responsibly in Naples.

The inside of the jacket has a full canvas construction that ensures comfort and breathability.

In excellent condition overall: no holes or scuffs or stains or odor.

The jacket has an unstructured shoulder and the rare so-called spalla camicia sleeve. The top of the sleeve is tucked under the shoulder like a shirt, creating a small, decorative gather. A detail loved by clothing enthusiasts.

The jacket also has patch pockets, back vents, functional buttonholes on the sleeves, handmade decorative stitching throughout, hand-stitched lining, and striking notch lapels. Exceptionally, the decorative stitching is in two rows.

The fabric is 100 % Tasmania Summer wool, super 120-quality, made by Zegna's mill. Very smooth and soft and a fine material, with a windowpane pattern.

Exact dimensions:

  • from shoulder seam to shoulder seam 48 cm
  • from shoulder seam to sleeve end 65 cm
  • armpit to armpit 57 cm
  • from neck to hem 77 cm
  • waist circumference 116 cm

A similar bespoke jacket from the company cost around 2,000 euros new.
